Awesome Pawsome Ranch was created with one clear goal: to offer dogs a safer, calmer, and more comfortable alternative to traditional kennels and crowded dog facilities.
Founded in 2006, our ranch was thoughtfully developed to support dogs who thrive with structure, space, and predictability. Over the years, we’ve worked with dogs of all ages, breeds, and personalities — including shy and nervous dogs who need a quieter, more controlled environment to feel secure.
Today, Awesome Pawsome Ranch proudly serves families by providing trusted dog boarding, grooming, and private play services in a peaceful rural setting just outside the city.

A facility designed for comfort and peace of mind
Our custom 10,000 sq ft facility is built to support a comfortable stay from morning through night. Each suite includes a dog door leading to a private outdoor area, and suites are positioned for easy viewing of the TVs that play family-friendly entertainment throughout the day—helping dogs feel at ease with familiar “at home” sounds. In the evening, we switch to nightlights and calm soothing music to support rest.

Meet The Owner
Shanin Neff
Awesome Pawsome Ranch has been owner-operated since 2006, with founder Shanin Neff personally overseeing every aspect of care. From facility design to daily routines, Shanin sets the standards that ensure each dog receives calm, individualized attention in a safe, structured environment.
With nearly two decades of hands-on experience in dog boarding, dog care, and facility management, Shanin built Awesome Pawsome Ranch around one core belief: dogs thrive best in low-stress, predictable spaces designed for comfort and emotional well-being.
In 2019, Awesome Pawsome Ranch expanded to include full-time, high-quality dog grooming services. In 2020, the ranch introduced a fully fenced 3.5-acre private off-leash dog park, offering families a safe, controlled option for outdoor exercise without the unpredictability of crowded public dog parks. As the first private off-leash park of its kind in the area, it provides a calm, appointment-based experience designed for families seeking a more private, structured play environment.
Today, Awesome Pawsome Ranch proudly provides trusted dog boarding, grooming, and private play experiences rooted in experience, care, and thoughtful design.
Even as a youngster, Shanin had a natural gift and deep passion for caring for animals.
At just 11 years old, her dedication was already turning heads. In 1985, the St. Albert Gazette featured her story, recognizing the heart and work ethic that would one day become Awesome Pawsome Ranch.
